This guide provides a visual walkthrough for first-time deployment of Windows Server 2008, designed to help you get started more easily.
Steps are as follows.
After inserting the Windows Server 2008 installation disc, restart the computer and configure the BIOS boot sequence (make sure to set the BIOS boot sequence to boot from the optical drive). Once restarted, the following installation screen appears. Select your language and click 'Next';
When the following screen appears, select 'Install Now';
Select Windows Server 2008 Enterprise (Full Installation) and click 'Next';
Read the license terms, check the box to accept them, and click 'Next';
Since this is the first time installing an operating system on this computer, choose Custom installation (to use the upgrade installation, the current computer must already have an OS installed and meet the 'upgrade policy'). Click 'Custom (advanced)';
Select the physical disk where you want to install the operating system, and click 'New';
Enter the amount of disk space to allocate (by default, the entire physical disk is allocated to the current partition). After partitioning, select Apply;
The system installation begins;
After installation, the computer restarts and presents the login screen. For the first login, you will be prompted to change the password;
The password must meet complexity requirements: choose at least three of the four character types—uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters—with a length exceeding seven characters. For example, '123.com'. After setting the password, press Enter (you need to enter the password twice; the second time is for confirmation);
After changing it, click 'OK' to log in to the system.
