Nowadays, home broadband typically uses one broadband line shared among several households, and the speed is sufficient. To save money, we can share the internet by having multiple users on the same ADSL line, which requires a router. Below, I will use the TL-R402 router as an example to illustrate the TP-LINK router setup method with diagrams.

Detailed Steps for TP-LINK Router Setup:

After arranging the cables, connect the WAN line (the main ADSL line) to the router’s WAN port, and connect the LAN ports to the computers you want to access the internet. Each router has a default IP address; check the manual to find it. Mine is 192.168.1.1. Configure your computer’s IP to 192.168.1.x, with the gateway and DNS pointing to the router, i.e., 192.168.1.1, as shown below:
