If you connect to an FTP server using FileZilla’s default settings, you may encounter the following errors:
Error: Could not establish data connection: ECONNREFUSED – Connection refused by server
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing
The fix is to switch the transfer mode to Active:
