Recently, I noticed through analytics that many people are accessing the site via lusongsong.com. It’s important to know that URLs with and without “www” can have different indexing statuses and authority. Currently, my blog’s non-www version has more indexed pages than the www version.
A simple explanation: lusongsong.com is a primary domain. Any name before it, such as lusongsong.com itself and down.lusongsong.com, is a second-level domain. So actually, www.lusongsong.com is a second-level domain of lusongsong.com, just a special kind of second-level domain.
If you care a lot about SEO, you can set up a 301 redirect to point www.lusongsong.com to lusongsong.com. If your web host doesn’t support 301 redirects, you can also set up URL forwarding. This way, when someone enters www.lusongsong.com, they will be automatically redirected to lusongsong.com.
