Since campus networks often support IPv6, but most entry-level routers rarely offer full IPv6 implementation, you usually can’t use IPv6 when connecting through a router’s NAT. However, there is a workaround: you can set up the router to function as a switch.
The method is:
1. Set the router’s LAN port IP address to a valid address within the local network.
2. Disable the router’s DHCP function.
3. Plug the network cable from the local network into one of the router’s LAN ports, and connect your computer’s network cable to another LAN port. The computer can obtain an IP address automatically or be configured manually.
Now you can access the internet, including the IPv6 network.
