Many people find themselves unable to access the internet because someone else has changed their router’s login password and taken control of the wireless network. Below, I will teach you how to deal with this.
1. Router Default Passwords
Apart from a few manufacturers whose wireless routers have universal passwords or login vulnerabilities, if you haven’t previously saved a backup of the configuration file, it’s nearly impossible to recover the password while preserving the current settings. To log into the wireless router again, you must clear all previous configurations.
2. Specific Method to Clear Configurations
(1) With the power connected, hold the wireless router and look at the back panel of the device.
(2) Generally, on the back panel, you will see a small hole with the word “reset” written above it. This is the reset button. Find a needle-like object (a regular ballpoint pen will also work) and insert it directly into this hole. Press and hold it for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then release.
(3) After completing the above operation, reconnect the power, and you can log in using the router’s default password. However, note that the original parameter settings will be gone, and the router will return to its factory state. The default administrator account information and password can be found in the product manual.
