I’m passionate about open source, not because I can steal code from it, but because it’s a way to gain knowledge and understand different programming mindsets. Over the years, open source mirror sites have mushroomed in China, though they still can’t compare with those abroad. Here, I’m listing all the open source mirror site addresses in mainland China for your reference.
Please note this is a summary; if you’ve set up a small open source mirror yourself, it’s not listed here. The following are sites that host a large variety of different mirrors.
For specific configurations, I recommend using mirrors from large enterprises. Some university mirrors are only for internal use and might not be as fast as you’d expect. Also, I suggest using certain acceleration plugins, such as yum-plugin-fastestmirror for RHEL series, apt-fast, axel, netselect-apt, apt-spy, etc.
If you are an education network user and your own school doesn’t have a mirror, please choose the Tsinghua University mirror for configuration. After all, the backbone of the education network is there.
