A Rundown of Cryptocurrency Exchanges

A few days ago, some netizens kept asking how to cash out the cryptocurrency they have mined. So today, let me introduce a few cryptocurrency trading platforms in hopes that they will be helpful to you.

Huobi

Founded in 2013, a veteran exchange that has received investment from ZhenFund and Sequoia Capital. At one point it became the world largest digital asset trading platform, accounting for 50% of global digital asset trading volume.
Domestic users may have heard of and used this platform more often. It is also one of the platforms I personally think offers the best user experience, supporting over a dozen languages.
Huobi can be said to be the exchange with the most retail investors in the crypto space, and also the platform supporting the most payment methods. Common buying and selling of coins can be done through WeChat, Alipay, bank cards, and other familiar payment methods.
Currently, Huobi has established compliance teams in multiple countries and regions including Singapore, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada, serving millions of users across more than 130 countries.
Supports iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, and other operating systems.
Huobi Global is headquartered in Singapore. Due to regulatory requirements, Huobi China has transformed into blockchain-related services, with its headquarters in Beijing, China.
Huobi main businesses include spot trading, futures, OTC, fiat currency, and more.
The website features a clean interface, particularly suited for users in the Asian region.

OKEx

When it comes to contract trading, the lead player has to be OKEx. OKEx is the earliest Bitcoin futures platform in China, supporting 12 languages.
OKEx is the exchange with the most whales in the crypto space, especially whales who love playing with futures. In the crypto world, they are generally called contracts.
This platform has fewer retail investors and lower activity compared to Huobi, leaning more toward contract trading.
OKEx is one of the world renowned Bitcoin exchanges, primarily offering spot and derivatives trading services for digital assets such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum to global users.

Binance

Also founded by Chinese entrepreneurs and primarily invested in by Chinese backers. It claims to be one of the platforms with the highest cryptocurrency trading volume globally, supporting even more languages than Huobi. The client currently supports iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, and other common systems.
Total trading volume in 2020 exceeded $3 trillion, a record high. While OKEx and Huobi are more seasoned players, Binance is a rising star and currently boasts the largest user base. It offers a wide variety of coins, relatively low trading fees, and fast deposit and withdrawal speeds.
Its core team members come from world-renowned companies such as Morgan Stanley and Nomura Securities.

Coinbase (USA)

If the founders of the previous exchanges are all from China, then Coinbase, an American company, has quite a legendary story to tell.
On January 23, 2020, Coinbase announced that its platform assets had exceeded $90 billion with over 43 million registered users.
On April 14, 2021, Coinbase successfully listed on Nasdaq, earning the title of the first cryptocurrency stock.
Its stock price after listing was quite a roller coaster. Although it did not see the mythical surge many had expected, Coinbase performance was actually impressive enough — its market value now exceeds that of two Nasdaq exchanges combined.
At the same time, Coinbase listing directly stimulated the cryptocurrency market, causing popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin to surge. Bitcoin and Ethereum hit new highs of $64,000 and $2,300 respectively, and Dogecoin skyrocketed by over 120% in a single day.
As the first cryptocurrency company to successfully go public, Coinbase is indeed enormously significant for the entire cryptocurrency industry.
Coinbase is one of the most popular cryptocurrency trading platforms in the world, especially among American users. It supports trading of various cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin, and likewise offers multiple ways to purchase cryptocurrencies, including bank accounts and credit cards.
It is a very large-scale cryptocurrency exchange that is stable and secure, making it especially suitable for investors who are new to the cryptocurrency market.

Next, let us take a look at two platforms that specialize in altcoins, both founded and operated in the United States.

Poloniex

Founded in 2014. If you trade altcoins, you have definitely heard of this site — known as the King of Altcoins, it has the highest altcoin trading volume. Most altcoins on Poloniex can experience a wave of price increases, and trading commissions are relatively low.
It used to support only English, but now supports 5 languages, with support for Android and iOS mobile devices.

Although it covers most mainstream altcoins, it does not have as comprehensive a selection as Bittrex. Poloniex is the leader in altcoins — this year altcoin rally started from Poloniex. However, customer service response is generally slow, withdrawals are slow, and Poloniex has withdrawal limits.

Bittrex

Bittrex is also a major venue for altcoin trading. Founded in 2014, it supports hundreds of trading pairs. The downside is that it currently only supports English, trading commissions are relatively higher than Poloniex, and customer service response is slow, but overall it is better than Poloniex.
Most of Bittrex staff are cryptocurrency enthusiasts, bringing over 50 years of combined security and development experience from companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and BlackBerry. Bittrex has never been hacked, making it one of the most secure cryptocurrency exchanges on the market.

That wraps up today introduction. You can choose the platform that suits your needs. If you have any other questions, feel free to leave a comment for discussion. Likes and follows are also welcome. See you next time.
